Valletta 1

Luckily we were able to check-in early, so we dumped our case and headed into town.  This involved walking up the 88 steps in front of the hotel and from there it was just 10 mins to the start of the old town, past the lovely Triton Fountain (which for some unknown reason I didn't photography in the light).

Firstly we walked to the Upper Barrakka Gardens for a view over the water towards the Three Cities - we considered getting the ferry across but it looked very small and the water was quite choppy - besides there was a lot to see on our side.

I think we both thought we'd go across another day, but we ran out of time.

A few street scenes - I just love the honey coloured stone.
